MediaLaws is pleased to share the Call for Abstracts for the SCiDA Conference on “Shaping Competition in the Digital Age: Towards Best Practices”, which will take place on 26–27 May 2026 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The conference is organised within the framework of the SCiDA (Shaping Competition in the Digital Age) research project and aims to bring together scholars working on competition law and digital markets regulation, with a particular focus on comparative perspectives. Contributions engaging with recent regulatory frameworks such as the EU Digital Markets Act (DMA), the UK Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act (DMCCA), and Section 19a of the German Act against Competition Restraints (GWB) are especially encouraged.

The Call for Abstracts welcomes extended abstracts (700–1,000 words) addressing theoretical or practical issues related to digital competition, including designation and enforcement mechanisms, compliance challenges, procedural aspects, innovation dynamics, and broader technological or geopolitical developments. Submissions may be based on unpublished work, including PhD thesis chapters or early-stage research projects.

Abstracts should be submitted by 18 January 2026 to the SCiDA project team at team@scidaproject.com. Selected contributors will be notified by early April 2026. Subject to available funding, limited travel support may be offered, with priority given to junior scholars.

Further information on the conference themes and submission requirements is available on the SCiDA project website.
